Hokkaido Trip Day 1
I am Back! :D
for a few days already, from Hokkaido and Taiwan, and now, I’m back to Sunway :( preparing for the new semester.
——————————————-
The trip was AWESOME! and it was worth every single cent we paid.
Hokkaido is extremely awesome and Taiwan is like a shopping heaven for girls! :D
This was the 2nd time i travel to Japan but it was Hokkaido this time, a lil bit different from the Japan trip last year. We didn’t visit any exciting places like Universal Studio or Disneyland. Instead, we went to some really relaxing, beautiful and breathtaking places. If u’d like to have a relaxing trip, go for a hot spring and enjoy some wonderful Japanese food, u would definitely love Hokkaido! :D
So, what actually makes me think that it worth every single cent?
1. It’s winter and snowing
As a Malaysian, we are suffering from our freaking hot and overwhelming weather everyday. So, if you have a chance, you should really go Hokkaido for a vacation during winter and experience the freezing cold weather especially when it’s snowing! The temperature in Hokkaido last week was around 4°C to -8°C and it will be from as low as -12 °C to -4 °C in January which means, NOW! Awesome isn’t it?! Until now, I still couldn’t forget the moments, when I first saw snow in Hokkaido and first time walking on the street while snowing. It was freaking awesome and it made me feel like crying wtf. The snowing white scene of Hokkaido really makes it so romantic for the couples, hence, it’s a perfect spot for honeymoon or a sweet escape or whatever it is as long as you’re with your other half.
2. Hokkaido is effin awesome
Japan is awesome as everyone knows. Hokkaido is Japan’s second largest island which is located at the north end of Japan which is known for its cooler summers and icy winters. The view is simply fascinating and breathtaking. The best things to do during winter in Hokkaido are~ to soak in a hot spring and to ski! and of course, there are a lot more such as snowmobile and etc etc. How awesome!
3. The food is extremely extremely salivating and irresistible
I don’t know how much weight I gain during this trip, seriously and i dare not step onto the weighing machine. I ate really a lot, a lot! We had buffet for almost 3 meals everyday. How could I control myself in such a great vacation and surrounded by all those yummy Japanese and some other cuisines? Can you? And do u know that actually Japanese rice was never been exported out from their country? They don’t ever export their own rice and they don’t import from other countries as well. Japanese rice is so damn nice! my all time favourite and it was like super precious because u only can eat it in Japan, how can i resist?! I ate their rice everytime i see it, even for breakfast :D
4. We stayed in hot spring hotel for 4 nights
Hot spring! Super relaxing and good for everyone. But one thing may stop u from going into the hot spring in Japan is~ u’d have to share ur naturally gifted body with everyone in the hot spring, but of course, same sex la okay. Yea u have to strip down and bath NAKED with everyone before u go into the hot spring and stay NAKED in it as well :p Despite the naked matter, hot spring is definitely a must go place when u visit Japan.
5. We stayed in tatami room hotel for 4 nights
Tatami room is super comfortable! It makes u feel like u r home and u r really living in Japan. The blanket is super soft and comfy. Lovely!
6. Leng zai and leng looi everywhere
I am NOT kidding, Japan is full of leng zai’s and leng looi’s. They are everywhere. Even the guy clearing snow on the street, some cooking Ramen guy or some promoters in the mall are so so so handsome I swear! I was like almost fainted when they smile to me *blush blush* can I bring them home LOL
7. Hello Kitty everywhere
Wherever I go, I see my beloved Hello Kitty. From the souvenir shops at the hotel lobby and some tourism spots, to the 7-eleven’s and local convenience stores, certainly you can find Hello Kitty everywhere. I felt like buying all of them home if I can! :D
8. Transit in Taiwan
We get to stay in Taiwan for 3 nights and 1 day. Awesome! Taiwan was fun and it really is a shopping heaven for girls. Nice food everywhere and lotsa goodies at affordable and sometimes super cheap price that you couldn’t find in Malaysia.
Over 1000 pictures were taken in Taiwan and Hokkaido oh goshhh.
I will be blogging about my Hokkaido trip 1st, and Taiwan will be the last :p

23 Dec 2009
departed from Penang International Airport. It’s Penang bridge, can u recognise it?
Met Eric Tsang in Tao Yuan Airport, Taiwan

24 Dec 2009
Arrived at Chitose Airport, Hokkaido
we were very excited, ran out when we saw snow without putting on any jacket and long john inside.

we were on our way to Jyozankei, the sky was turning dark.
It was a 2-3 hours journey if i’m not mistaken. The sky was already dark on the way to hotel. We passed by the town and lotsa hilly roads. Somehow, I felt like passing by some dead city because there was totally no other cars and vehicles on the road, no sky-reaching buildings, the houses were all dark and only a few of them turned on the lights, all of the vehicles were totally covered by snow and of course, no one on the street. It was only around 5 – 6pm in the evening, but no doubt, the view was beautiful. It’s quite a big contrast with the night life in Tokyo.
Reached our hotel room and I was so damn effin excited!
Look, It’s a tatami room!

very comfortable and cozy
dropped our stuff in the room and headed to the hotel restaurant for buffet dinner
I was really shocked when I 1st stepped into the restaurant

how luxury it looks!
and another thing i love about Japan is that almost everyone is wearing yukata and taking dinner together. It feels so warm and nice!
We were effin excited about the food! From japanese food to western food all so yummy!

Desserts!
we walked and looked around the hotel after dinner to help for better digestion :p All of us ate too much
Pikachuuuuuuuu! super cute
guess what we saw when we went into the room after dinner?
ta~~~ dahhh

mattresses, blankets and all were already prepared for us! How sweet!
we took a rest for half an hour, and prepared to go out and play with the snow!
I was wearing the leather gloves for the 1st day, but it was so cold that it couldn’t help to keep my fingers warm at all! *tsk tsk tsk*
me and papa in the elevator

2 lil kids were playing with snow outside
so freaking cold, by that time we went out, it had stopped snowing :(

nice? I wonder how the snow forms into all rounded shapes. They were so cute like artificial ones! see~ all the edges are round!
awwww my legs sank into the snow already! :D
went back to our room after that, put on our Yukata and ready to go for hot spring!

This was my very 1st time goin for hot spring. As I mentioned, you have to be naked! But trust me, it is really okay to be naked in front of everyone over there. No one would look at u and while u are inside the area seeing so many naked women (ranging from 2 to 70 years old) around u, automatically, u’ll feel normal and wont be shy anymore.
It was a hot spring resort we stayed that night. It has indoor and outdoor hot spring. But u have to make sure that u go for indoor one for 10 minutes before u go outdoor because the temperature outside was like~ below 0°C
That night was 24th Dec, Christmas eve, me and my sis were indulging in the outdoor hot spring, and it was SNOWING! Ohh goshhh could u imagine how cool was that?! Indulging in the hot spring while looking at the snowing sky, and letting the snow flakes to land on ur face! It’s so effin awesome that i couldn’t describe it in words babe! what a memorable Christmas eve in 2009 :D
So, this is the 1st day in Hokkaido.
Will be blogging for the 2nd day soon but it will be really ~ really a freaking LONG post!
stay tuned babe :D
